Celebrate our 2022 Local Legends- Ted & Maribeth Hollern Ted & Maribeth Hollern were chosen as this years local legends for the amazing impact they have made on the Catholic Central Community. Maribeth was class President all four years, (one of the first Females to be President) National Honor Society, Captain Cheer team, Sprinter on the Track team, and women of the year finalist in 1981. Maribeth Graduated from GVSU with a Masters in Nursing. She was a nurse for 35 years at Spectrum Health Intensive Care Unit. She now runs her own nurse consultant business and is clinical Nursing Facility for Ferris State University. She is a mother of five kids that have all graduated from Catholic Central. (Teddy, McKenzie, Nathan, Abbie, and Nick). Grandmother “Marni”of one (Daisy) Ted Hollern was the winner of Ted Sowle Award in 1981 for his accomplishments in football, basketball and track. He recieved a Football scholarship to CMU and was a four year letterman. He still holds the CMU and Mid American Conference return records. He graduated from CMU with Masters degree and went on to become teacher, coach, Asst. Principal, And now in his 36th year as Director of Athletics for Wyoming Public Schools. Maribeth and Ted first met in 1977 at the Catholic Central vs. EGR freshman football scrimmage at Wealthy Field while Ray McCahill was coaching the freshman football team. They have been married for 35 years and say they owe it all to Ray and the scrimmage. Ray McCahill has had a huge impact on both of lives. "We always loved, admired, and respected Coach McCahill.
